The Katsina State Government, through the State Internal Revenue Service (KT-IRS), has generated tax revenues exceeding N4.8 billion in the first three months of 2024. This represents a 227% increase compared to the over N1.7 billion collected in the first quarter of 2023. This success demonstrates that under the leadership of Governor Dikko Umaru Raɗɗa, PhD, the Katsina State Government is on track to achieve over N20 billion in internal revenue for the year.

This achievement surpasses the revenue collected in previous years, where the state generated between N10 billion and N14 billion annually. This remarkable progress is attributed to the implementation of Governor Raɗɗa’s strategic initiatives following his election in 2023.

Additionally, it is widely recognised that the Katsina State Government has established a unified account system, known as the Treasury Single Account (TSA). Although this system has only been in operation for a few months, its introduction has closed loopholes and ensured meticulous tracking to protect the state's assets.

This underscores Governor Raɗɗa’s commitment to ensuring that by 2027, Katsina State will rely solely on its internally generated revenue for its budget.
